Belgian star Dimitri Van den Bergh booked his spot in the last eight of the behind closed doors Betfred World Matchplay in Milton Keynes, in his first year at the tournament, defeating Joe Cullen 11-9 in a scrappy all Team Unicorn encounter.

The match began with Cullen, who had match-darts to defeat Gary Anderson in the 2018 Matchplay quarter-final, taking a 3-2 lead in to the opening break despite two ton plus finishes from his opponent.

Team Unicorn duo Gary Anderson and Jelle Klaasen secured places in the Low6 Home Tour Play-Offs Championship Group on Wednesday.

Two-time World Champion Anderson and former Lakeside Champion Klaasen booked their spot in Friday's Home Tour decider by claiming wins over Dave Chisnall and Mike De Decker in their opening two matches of Semi-Finals Group One.

Chisnall gained consolation with a 6-5 win over De Decker in their final match of the night, before Anderson saw off Klaasen 6-2 to top the Group One table.

It now makes it nine victories in a row on the Home Tour for Anderson, having won all three of his groups undefeated.

Ian White claimed his first title of the year at Players Championship 8 in Barnsley on Sunday, defeating James Wade 8-3 in an all Team Unicorn final.

White produced an incredibly consistent level throughout the day, averaging over 100 in all but one of his seven victories, including a 111.3 in his win over John Henderson in the last 32.

A winner of two European Tour events in 2019, White began the second day of the ProTour double-header with wins over William Borland, Diogo Portela and Henderson.

The 49-year-old then overcame Stephen Bunting in the last 16 before a 109.7 average was enough to see off Dave Chisnall in the last eight.

Ahead of the Ladbrokes UK Open which gets underway in Minehead later today, young Dutch star Jeffrey de Zwaan has penned a new long-term contract with Unicorn Darts.  

Rising star de Zwaan who turns 24 at the end of this month, is tipped by many to make his way to the very top of the game and has already climbed upto World no.20 in just over two years after regaining his PDC Tour card at European Q-School.

JDZ showcased his undoubted potential during the recent World Championship at Alexandra Palace averaging a blistering 106.09 whilst defeating Dave Chisnall and then narrowly losing out to eventual World Champion Peter Wright 4-3 in the Last 16, after battling back valiantly from three sets to nil down.

Team Unicorn star Michael Smith celebrated his first televised nine-dart finish in Dublin on Thursday.

Smith followed two 180s with a sublime 141 checkout to bring 9,000 fans to their feet at a sell-out 3Arena, hitting the Premier League's first perfect leg for almost three years.

The moment of magic came in the fourth leg of a tight contest as he levelled, with Gurney then leading 5-4 before seeing Smith claim the game's final three legs to take victory.

"It's a feeling you can't explain - it's amazing," said Smith. "I've never hit a nine-darter on TV before and this was special. I've never felt my heart beat so fast in my life!

Kasumi Sato is the latest big name from Asia to sign for the world's leading darts manufacturer.

Sato, aged 28 from Akiruno in Tokyo will join fellow stars Seigo Asada and Toru Suzuki in Team Unicorn, bringing together a now strong representation in Japan.

3 times Ladies Perfect Tour Champion, Sato was the surprise package at the recent Rest of the World Women's Qualifier for the World Championship, as she pushed her compatriot Mikuru Suzuki hard in a keenly-contested final leading 4-3, before Suzuki claimed the last two legs to seal her spot at Alexandra Palace.

Sato reached the World Masters Semi-Finals in 2019, last month appeared at UK PDC Q-School as she looks to further her career

The 2019 PDC Unicorn Development Tour runaway winner Ted Evetts has signed a new long-term contract with Unicorn Darts.

Evetts, aged 22, claimed a magnificent eight titles during a sparkling year, which took his overall tally of career wins on the Development Tour to twelve.

Having recently joined the Sportsman Management Company, which includes stablemates Dimitri Van den Bergh and Kyle Anderson, 'SuperTed' is excited by both the future and his new deal ''I am buzzing to extend my stay with Unicorn, more than happy with all of my equipment and I'm looking forward to my best year yet''.
