Ben Slater
- Profile
An opening batter by trade, Ben secured his maiden first-class century, for Derbyshire against Leicester, in September 2014.
Moving across the M1 to Nottinghamshire in 2018, the left-hander settled quickly, celebrating his home debut with a ton on the opening day of the County Championship against Yorkshire at Trent Bridge.
Sent out on loan to Leicestershire in August 2020, Ben made a score of 172 - his first-class best at the time, against Lancashire and was immediately recalled – he made 142 for Notts, again against Lancashire securing his spot in the club’s County Championship side.
In 2021, Ben’s form continued. He amassed 838 runs in the County Championship which included centuries against Derbyshire and Worcestershire and totalled 375 runs in the Royal London One Day Cup - totals that made him Notts' top scorer in both formats.
