Luke Fletcher

Among the County games’ most established and recognisable faces, The Bulwell Bomber is feared and admired in equal parts across the game.

Making a First-Class debut in 2008, Nottinghamshire’s bowler took 29 wickets at 27.58 in 2009. He proved his worth with a bat in the next season, making a career-high 92 against Hampshire in the Championship.

2011 was his most successful campaign. Luke took 73 wickets across all formats, including a 5/82 against Lancashire. In 2013, he took another five-wicket haul, 5/93, this time against Yorkshire.

A terrible head injury in 2017’s T20 would have retired most people but Luke returned in 2018, securing 38 Championship wickets as well as being a key member of his county’s limited-overs teams.

His rehabilitation was completed in some style last season as the Nottinghamshire bowler was named LV= Insurance County Championship Player of the Year. Luke’s 66 red-ball wickets were the most by any bowler in 2021 and taken at an average of 14.09.
