West Indies’ exciting all-rounder Nyeem Young first made international headlines at the 2020 U19 Cricket World Cup. In a Group B match against England, he became the first cricketer for the West Indies to score a fifty and take a five-wicket haul in the same U19 match.
He was signed by the Barbados Royals soon after to play in the Caribbean Premier League and quickly made his T20 debut, for the Barbados Tridents.
In March of this year, 21-year old Nyeem was called up to a white-ball training squad with the Windies national team, designed to prepare for upcoming international fixtures.
West Indies Head Coach, Phil Simmons noted:
"Nyeem is one of the potentially good young allrounders we have around the Caribbean, so we just want to bring them in and get them to understand what we expect of them if they get to that level."
