    JAMES WADE does not believe he’s a “dark horse” to pick up his second Premier League title. 

    The Aldershot hotshot has made a typically steady start to the campaign including reaching one final.

    Wade, 38, is confident that he can add to his league title last won 13 years ago - which underlines his evergreen longevity in the sport. 

    He said: “I don’t see myself as a dark horse. In the second week I had some problems at home, no excuse why I lost to Joe Cullen. I wasn’t there as a person. That’s why that second week was so poor.

    Minehead joy for Ward!

    Harry WardTeam Unicorn Global youngster Harry Ward, 20, has qualified for the Coral UK Open Finals at Butlins Minehead resort next month.

    Former PDC Development Tour finalist 'Big H' won the Rileys Coventry knockout yesterday, to secure his second UK Open appearance, having previously played in the 2016 event.

    Swadlincote based Ward was in superb form all day, reeling off numerous 11 and 12 dart legs en-route to the final where he defeated Ian McFarlane. The final itself was very close, where Ward eventually edged it 5-4, having to break the McFarlane throw in the decider, checking out 86 for a 12 dart leg to seal his spot at Minehead.

    Bricklayer by trade Ward, was back to the day job today, but had time to reveal his joy ''I'm pleased to have qualified for the UK Open, as the last few weeks at Q-School and at the Challenge Tour have been tough. But now it's onto Minehead, where I hope I can show everyone what I can do and most importantly play to my capabilities''.

    Team Unicorn's rising star Chris Dobey was in Mayfair, London last week ahead of the Annual PDC Awards Dinner at The Dorchester Hotel where he caught up with Player Liaison Matt Rankin.

    Current World no.35 Dobey is targeting a place in the World's Top 32 and a first PDC title in the coming months and is convinced his second appearance on the Alexandra Palace World Championship stage, will stand him in good stead in the future. Bedlington ace Dobey explained ''I enjoyed every minute up there. It's all about learning and gaining experience. I enjoyed it, it will bring the best out of me''.

    Throughout 2018, Dobey is defending a sizeable chunk of his Order of Merit tally and is hopeful of some good performances during the first part of the year.

    'Hollywood' will be in action next at the UK Open Qualifiers in Wigan at the end of this week.

    Team Unicorn's latest high profile signing, Jelle Klaasen was in Mayfair, London last week ahead of the Annual PDC Awards Dinner at The Dorchester Hotel where he caught up with Player Liaison Matt Rankin.

    Dutch star Klaasen, signed for Unicorn Darts earlier this month and he talked, amongst other things, about how delighted he is to now be backed by the World's leading darts manufacturer ''I think it's been a long time coming, maybe too long!. I'm practising with the prototype darts and I can't wait until everything is finished. It's a nice direction we are going in''.

    2018 is a big year for Klaasen, not only using new darts, but he will also wed his long-time partner Nanke at the end of May in Italy. Congratulations to both Jelle & Nanke ahead of the big day!.

    'The Cobra' will make his debut in Unicorn colours at the UK Open Qualifiers in Wigan at the end of this week.
