It was another fantastic night for British teams in the Europa League with all four teams still in the running to make it to the knockout stages of the competition.
Chelsea romped home with a resounding 4-0 win to extend their lead at the top of Group L to nine points with one game to go in the group stages of the competition.
Olivier Giroud set the tone with two first-half goals for the Blues after PAOK Salonika were reduced to 10 men when Yeven Khacheridi was shown a straight red card in the seventh minute for denying Giroud a clear goal-scoring opportunity.
Callum Hudson-Odoi compounded PAOK’s problems with his first senior goal for the club on the hour mark to extend Chelea’s
It all starts on Thursday December 13. The greatest darts show on earth. The World Championship and Team Unicorn will head to London full of belief.
Gary Anderson’s bid for a third World crown (he is pictured with the 2016 trophy) kicks-off against either Paul Nicholson or Kevin Burness.
In all, 16 Team Unicorn stars bid for glory at the Alexandra Palace. Jeffrey de Zwaan has been given the opportunity to topple the World Champion on the opening night!
He will face Rob Cross if he can overcome Nitin Kumar. It is a great opportunity for the young Dutchman
Dimitri van den Bergh has made history by defending his PDC Unicorn World Youth title.
The young Belgian made it back-to-back World Youth crowns with a brilliant display on Sunday night in Minehead as he beat German Martin Schindler 6-3.
The Unicorn star was in superb form as he averaged 100.44 to take the prestigious title and a prize of £10,000
“I am just thrilled with what I have achieved,” he said. “It means so much to me to make a little bit of history. I felt good going on the stage and to defend this is a great achievement.”
He was close but Gary Anderson’s bid to win a second Players Championship crown came to an end in the semi-finals in Minehead.
The Unicorn star was edged out 11-9 in a thriller by Michael van Gerwen, who was then beaten 11-9 in an epic final by Daryl Gurney who claimed his second ‘Major’ TV title in sensational style.
Gurney took out 85 on the bull to deny Van Gerwen a fourth straight Players Championship victory. The Irishman came from 9-8 down to take the win.
Anderson will be disappointed after missing key opportunities.....he threw for a 4-1 lead but couldn’t capitalise. He missed ‘tops’
Gary Anderson and Chris Dobey will fly the Unicorn flag as the pair bid for Players Championship glory.
In the last 16, both won all Unicorn clashes.....Dobey beating James Wade in a thrilling last leg decider but Anderson was too good for Joe Cullen winning 10-2.
The Scot, who won the tournament back in 2014, has dropped only five legs so far this weekend. For Dobey it was arguably the biggest win of his career and he reached a ‘Major’ TV quarter-final for the second time.
It was a terrific day for young Dobey. He beat Dave Chisnall 6-3 to set up the showdown with Wade.
In a exciting new deal for one our main PDC Tour players, Unicorn are pleased to announce the we are collaborating with L-Style in the joint equipment sponsorship of former Lakeside World Champion and Premier League player Jelle Klaasen.
Lee Parker, Unicorn Production Director commented; “This is great news for everyone involved and the fans of Jelle Klaasen. Joint sponsorship is of course not unusual on the main Asian tours, with Japans no.1 and our very own Team Unicorn star Seigo Asada sharing the exact same equipment sponsors.
There was heartache for Gary Anderson at the Grand Slam as he fell to an agonising defeat in the final.
The Unicorn man was beaten 16-13 by Gerwyn Price in Wolverhampton on Sunday in what was an ill-tempered final.
Having seen off Michael van Gerwen in the semi-finals, Anderson got embroiled in a war of words with Price and from 13-11 in front, he lost five straight legs as Price became the first Welshman to claim a PDC Major.
It really was there for the taking but Gary couldn’t take his chances when it really mattered.
