  1. Europa League Round-Up

    Europa League Round-Up

It was a successful night in Europe for British teams as Chelsea and Arsenal both secured a place in the knockout stage of the Europa League and Celtic and Rangers remain in the hunt to follow suit.

    Europa League Ball

Chelsea ventured to Belarus to face FC BATE, having beaten the same side 3-1 at Stamford Bridge a couple of weeks ago.  This time, Chelsea faced a sterner test to maintain their perfect record in the competition.

After taking the lead through Olivier Giroud before the hour-mark, the Blues were on the receiving end of a barrage of chances as the home side rattled both the crossbar and the post as they searched

  2. Anderson targets Grand Slam

It is one of his favourite weeks of the darting calendar, but the title is still missing from his CV.

Team Unicorn star Gary Anderson is a huge fan of the Grand Slam of Darts and despite winning the World Championship, World Matchplay, UK Open, Players Championship, the Premier League and the Champions League, the GSOD has eluded him.

“I love the Grand Slam having played in the tournament from the start, so it is frustrating for me that I haven’t been able to win one! It will be very different not being at the Wolverhampton Civic, but I will be ready,” he said.

The Wolves Civic is being renovated, so the tournament will be staged at Aldersley Leisure Centre.

Anderson, who has lost in a Grand Slam Final, is the top seed in Group D alongside fellow Unicorn ace and good friend Ian White, qualifier Steve Hine and BDO German debutant Michael Unterbuchner.

In all seven Unicorn players will head to Wolverhampton this weekend.

  4. Dazzling Dimitri reaches World Youth Final

Dimitri van den Bergh is on course to defend his PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship Crown.

On Monday, the Team Unicorn star and defending champion, pictured here with his 2018 trophy, won through to the 2019 final in spectacular fashion.

He will face German ace Martin Schindler for the title at Minehead at the end of the month. The clash will be played on the big stage just before the Players Championship Final and will be screened ‘live’ on ITV4 on Sunday November 25.

Dimitri is looking to make history by winning back-to-back World Youth crowns and he was in imperious form all day.

The new system saw the players split into 32 groups. Van den Bergh won his with victories over Patrik Kovacs and Keelan Kay. In the last 32, he beat Melvin de Fijter 6-3 and followed that with wins over Thomas Lovely and Christian Bunse to reach the semi-finals.

It came down to an all Unicorn clash for a place in the final. The in-form Ted Evetts against

  5. Wade edges out Smith in World Series thriller

There was joy for James Wade and despair for Michael Smith in a dramatic World Series Final in Vienna.

Wade saw Smith miss five match darts to claim a thriller 11-10 and was clearly emotional afterwards as he made it back-to-back TV titles following on from his superb European Championship triumph.

For Smith, a case of what might have been and you have to feel for him. He was tantalisingly close to a first big TV title.

    But what a final!

“I really can’t believe that he missed those darts,” admitted Wade. “I thought I’d blown it. But these two tournament wins mean so much to me. My life has changed with the birth of my son and my career seems to be benefitting.”

It was an action-packed thriller and Smith was that close to the success he’s been craving.

Wade raced into a 3-0 lead before Smith got a foothold in the final with a sublime 140 check-out. The pair then exchanged some brilliant darts before

  6. Evetts clinches Ally Pally spot as Dimitri wins again!

It was some weekend in Wigan for Team Unicorn.

Quite simply it was the best weekend of Ted Evetts darting career.

There was triple delight for the Unicorn youngster as he secured qualification for the World Championship and also won himself a prized PDC Tour card through the PDC Unicorn Development Tour, then to cap it all he won the last DT event of the year!

And Dimitri van den Bergh won on the PDC Unicorn Development Tour for the second time in a month and it was his 12th Development Tour title in all. The win coming just 48 hours after he competed at the World Series Finals.

Dimitri won DT 19 as he saw off young Dutchman Geert Nentjes 5-3, then Evetts won DT 20, beating Christian Bunse 5-4 in the final....his third DT success of 2018.

A two-year tour card is huge for Evetts as well as his place at the Alexandra Palace next month. And by finishing 3rd on the Development Tour Order of Merit, it has opened the big door to so many opportunities.

  7. Wade spoils the party in Austria

Newly crowned European champion James Wade is targeting the World Series title.

He silenced the sell-out crowd in Vienna with a superb 6-3 victory over home town hero Mensur Suljovic.

Michael Smith is also through to the quarter finals but Gary Anderson suffered a dramatic defeat to Dave Chisnall.

Wade will face surprise package Jamie Lewis in the last eight.

The pressure of playing on the Vienna stage clearly got to Suljovic and Wade kept his cool.

His finishing was again spot on as he carved out a 3-1 lead. The Unicorn man outplayed the Austrian and three 180s latter it was all over thanks to a 96 two dart check-out.

He averaged 98 and will be a threat in the final day.

It was a very impressive performance from Smith as he hit three ton plus finishes and four 180s to progress. After Kyle had taken out 109 to level at 1-1, Smith nailed a 120 finish and then a third maximum helped him to a 3-1 lead. The St Helens ace missed darts for

  8. Kyle stars on opening night in Vienna

Kyle Anderson admitted he’s “fallen back in love with darts” after a stellar display at the World Series Finals.

He was superb as he edged out Ian White 6-4 in their all Unicorn clash in Vienna on Friday night.

James Wade was also a first round winner but both Dimitri van den Bergh and Keegan Brown fell at the first hurdle.

Kyle averaged over 100 throughout his victory and withstood a White fightback to book another all Unicorn affair in the 2nd Round against Michael Smith.

The new slower throwing style is working for Anderson.

The Australian led 3-0 after a spectacular start when he hit a maximum followed by a 144 check-out, then a 13 darter and a superb D16 from what looked like an impossible angle.

Credit to White as he battled back to level. Anderson took out 110 to edge ahead again and missed two darts for a 5-3 advantage, but from four apiece he hit a brilliant 156 finish and won the match on ‘tops’ after
