Anderson heads World Series field

Unicorn star Gary Anderson heads home to Glasgow next month bidding for World Series glory.

The Scot, who missed the World Grand Prix as he was about to become a Dad again, is celebrating the birth of his daughter and he will be hoping to be celebrating in Scotland at the Braehead Arena from November 3-5.

He has a poor record at the World Series Finals but will head to Glasgow in good spirits, especially after his superb wins in Dubai and Perth this year.

By the way, Gary has kept his No.2 spot in the World rankings in the latest Order of Merit table by just £250 over Peter Wright!

There is one more World Series event before the finals….that happens in Dusseldorf with the German Darts Masters on October 20 and 21.

Fellow Team Unicorn stars Kyle Anderson and James Wade have also qualified through the World Series rankings, along with Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright, Raymond van Barneveld, Daryl Gurney and Gerwyn Price.

The Order of Merit qualifiers are Adrian Lewis, Mensur Suljovic, Dave Chisnall and Jelle Klaasen, while Unicorn’s Michael Smith is one of the players given a special invitation to play in Glasgow. The others are the Australian duo of Simon Whitlock and Corey Cadby plus German star Max Hopp.

There will also be eight qualifiers for the event in Scotland.

Meanwhile in those latest World rankings, Wade is down to 10th, Smith is at 13th, Kim Huybrechts 15th, Joe Cullen 19th and Kyle Anderson 25th. Newly crowned World Grand Prix champion Daryl Gurney has catapulted up to World No.6
