Devon Petersen will be back at the World Championship.

The Team Unicorn ace won the African qualifier on Sunday to make it to the Alexandra Palace for a sixth time.

It will be a huge relief for Devon who has endured a tough year on the PDC Pro Tour.

But he will get another chance to shine on the biggest stage in World darts next month.

At the qualifier in Cape Town on Sunday, Petersen held his nerve as he justified his favourites tag to go through from a strong field of 64 players.

He dropped only five legs in four matches on his way to the final where he beat Nolan Arendse 7-2.

“I felt the pressure so this is huge for me,” Devon admitted. “I will be proud to represent Africa again at the World Championship. I am proud of what I achieved to qualify.”

Petersen will light up the Ally Pally stage where he will hope to jump the first hurdle having lost there in the 1st Round to Steve Beaton and Darren Webster in the last two years.

But a terrific achievement for Devon!
