New deal for Dimitri

He is one of the biggest young talents in World darts and now Dimitri van den Bergh has committed his long-term future to Unicorn.

The Belgian starlet has made a big splash over the last 12 months and is destined for the very top and Unicorn will back him all the way.

“A big thank you to Unicorn for all the help and support and the fact they believe in me and my future. It means so much to me,” Dimitri said.

Winning the PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship last November was a huge turning point in Dimitri’s career and came just a fortnight after he reached the quarter-finals of the World Series in Scotland.

Of course Van den Bergh followed up with that stunning run to the World Championship quarter-finals and he was in the mix for a Premier League spot.

At the Alexandra Palace he took eventual champion Rob Cross the distance before losing in a thriller 5-4.

Van den Bergh comes alive on the big TV stages and that was proved again in May. After being handed his World Series debut, he saw off both Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson en route to the final in Gelsenkirchen before losing to Mensur Suljovic.

Next came a superb effort in the World Cup as he and fellow Unicorn ace Kim Huybrechts took Belgium to the semi-finals

The top 32 in the world is now in his sights.

“To be fair the past few tournaments have been a struggle but I am feeling the positive vibes again,” he said.

“I want to defend my World Youth title and succeed in the TV events. Step by step I will get there. I promise.”

Dimitri has the world of darts in his hands and expect big things from the young Belgian in the years to come.
