Gary Anderson rounded off the latest leg in the World Series with a superb victory at the Perth Darts Masters.

It's a fifth World Series title for the Team Unicorn star who beat Raymond van Barneveld 11-7 in a high quality final on Sunday.

Anderson had earlier won a thrilling all Unicorn semi-final 11-9 against James Wade.

"It is a great feeling to win in the World Series again," he said. "After the disappointment of Auckland and Melbourne I had a point to prove here."

And he did!

Gary averaged 104 in a dominating display in the final against the Dutchman after staving off a Wade fight back in the semi-finals.

It was the first time that Anderson and Barney had met in a PDC Final. The Unicorn man led 3-2 with a break and was averaging 113.

Van Barneveld, who had survived three missed match darts to beat Daryl Gurney in the semi-finals, kept in it despite a brilliant 136 finish from Anderson who stretched his advantage to 6-4

The quality continued with a 13 darter from Barney, followed by an Anderson 11 dart leg. Then the Dutchman nailed 121 on the bull before Gary hit three crucial 180s. A 72 check-out saw the Unicorn ace move to the brink at 10-7 and he then banged in a 7th maximum and won the final on D8.

The semi-final was a seesaw affair. Anderson led 5-2 but back came Wade to level before three legs on the bounce saw the No.1 seed move in front again.

A 12 darter took Anderson out to 9-7 but again Wade hit back to level the game. Crucially Gary broke again and served out the match after hitting a 7th 180.

But Wade will be encouraged by his performance in Perth.

This was Anderson's weekend and you always had the feeling that he meant business. It is his second World Series triumph in 2017 after that victory in Dubai in May.

He will now have some time off with the family before the Champions League of Darts in three weeks time in Cardiff.

"It is a big four months coming up for me on and off the oche, so it will be important to enjoy some down time but this win has certainly put a big smile on my face," Anderson added.
