Jake Ball

From top class cricketing stock (his uncle Bruce French played 26 times for England), Jake Ball has spent a decade giving batters sleepless nights.

The first England bowler to take five wickets on an ODI debut (5-51 v Bangladesh in October 2016), the 30-year-old has spent a career at the top of the domestic game since breaking onto the scene with Nottingham in 2011.

Jake has over 200 red ball wickets to his name; in the County Championship, he took the millennium’s first home hat-trick by a Nottinghamshire player v Middlesex, in 2016. It was those types of performances that year earned Jake an England Test debut v Pakistan and a place on the Winter tours of Bangladesh/India – and that heroic ODI performance.

A rejuvenated Ball was a key member of the Nottingham Outlaws' Vitality Blast win in 2020, emerging as the tournament's leading wicket-taker.
