Ian Cockbain

It’s been an impressive winter for Ian Cockbain.

The 34-year old joined Adelaide halfway through KFC BBL|11 due to covid-enforced absences. He took full advantage, taking the Strikers to just one ball away from the final. His 239 runs in six innings included scores of 35*, 17, 71*, 3, 65 and 48 were pivotal in Adelaide’s exciting run.

Cockbain has plenty of experience on which to count. Joining Gloucestershire in 2010, he made a maiden first-class century in 2011 and a match-winning 78 off 46 balls in just his second T20. Over the last decade, the Liverpool-born batter has made 57 first-class appearances for Gloucestershire with a highest score of 151*, averaging 34.15 and has a T20 strike rate of 132.05 – he is his county’s highest-ever T20 run scorer.
