Zak Chappell

Zak Chappell burst on to the cricketing scene in 2015, smashing 96 from 112 deliveries, the highest innings by a Leicestershire No.10.

Tall, quick and a threat with the ball across all formats, he took 33 wickets in 14 red-ball fixtures in 2018, including a career best 6-44 against Northamptonshire, to go with 22 white-ball dismissals.

Those returns earned him an England Lions call-up, where he impressed with figures of 4-60 in a Test against India A.

He made the move to Nottinghamshire, racking up 23 appearances and taking 39 wickets but really found himself in joining Mickey Arhtur’s Derbyshire.

In his first summer with the Falcons, he took 26 T20 wickets at 18.03, a return which saw him called in by Oval Invincibles in a summer in which they won their maiden men’s Hundred title.

His 74 wickets in the shortest format, at an average of 21.36, show a developing bowler who is coming into his prime years as a paceman.
