Nick Gubbins

A technically proficient, temperamentally sound, heavy-scoring batter, Nick Gubbins continues to hope his club performances result in international honours.

He made an outstanding start to his Championship career in 2014, making three half-centuries for Middlesex in his first four innings.

In 2015, Nick made a debut 100 in the Royal London Cup, form he would take into 2016 and his county’s Championship success. Nick made 1,409 first-class runs at an average of 61.26 as Middlesex took the title for the first time in 23 years. He struck four Championship hundreds, including a career-best 201* against Lancashire.

In 2018, he made a couple of hundreds in the North v South Series in the Caribbean which had some pressing for England recognition, before injury quietened those voices.

Joining Hampshire in July of last year, hundreds for his new side in the Bob Willis Trophy and the Championship have re-ignited the debate.
