Tom Lammonby

In 2019, aged just 19, Somerset allrounder Tom Lammonby made a wicket-taking T20 debut. Two months later, he knocked a tenacious 41 in his maiden first-class game.

However, it would be in the 2020 that Tom truly announced himself to the cricketing world. In little over a month, he scored three centuries that had journalists scrabbling for superlatives.

In the competition’s final Central Group games, a 101 against Gloucester in early August was followed by 107 against Worcestershire a fortnight later. The ton against Worcestershire made Tom, at just over 20, the youngest Somerset player to carry his bat. Tom left his most impressive innings for the Trophy final, notching a sensational 116 against Essex’s much-revered attack.

In total, he has scored 488 runs in T20 and has an impressive strike rate of 152. He has also picked up 11 wickets in 16 innings at an economy rate of 10 runs per over.
