Matthew Montgomery

Johannesburg-born, Montgomery had to bid his time before making his English domestic debut for Nottinghamshire in July of 2022, starting as he would go on with 80 in his first innings.

By the end of that very summer, he was a County Championship centurion. As Nottinghamshire celebrated the Division Two title, the right-hander made 178 before finally being dismissed.

His First-Class debut however had come four years previous, for KwaZulu Natal in 2018 before he made the move to study in England.

Having earned his way onto the Nottinghamshire staff, the right-hander has translated his skills into T20 cricket, representing the Outlaws on 28 occasions where his occasional off-spinners have been put to good use.
