A late bloomer, Spencer Johnson’s attributes as a tall, pacey left-armer were always destined to pique the interest of cricket observers across the world.
Making his domestic T20 debut aged just 27, in 2023, in less than two years Johnson has become a household name in the game, helped no doubt by his million dollar deal ahead of the 2024 IPL.
Originally bursting onto the scene with Brisbane Heat, the speedster’s skills at the death were the first to come to the fore.
Fast forward to today and he has two The Hundred titles and one Big Bash League under his belt with Oval Invincibles and the Heat.
In the English flagship tournament, he returned remarkable figures of 3-1 from 20 deliveries in the 2023 edition and has represented Gujarat Titans in the IPL and Los Angeles Knight Riders in the US.
As part of his steep rise to the top, Johnson was given his T20 and ODI debuts in August and September of 2023 and has represented his country on ten occasions to date.
