James Coles

A product of Sussex’s player development partnership with Oxfordshire Cricket Board, James Coles became the County’s youngest-ever First-Class debutant in 2020, aged just 16 years and 157 days.

Making the most of his red-ball bow, the left-arm spinner removed Rory Burns, Ben Foakes and Jamie Smith on his way to figures of 3-35.

The all-rounder was still a teenager when he brought up his maiden hundred in the format, one of three in the 2023 season, when he reached three figures against Glamorgan.

Still only 20, the youngster already has 90 professional appearances under his belt and, in the past two summers, has translated his successes into the shortest format for Sussex and Southern Brave.
