Ben McKinney

First entering the Durham age group set up at Under-11s, Ben McKinney’s journey to fully-fledged professional was complete in 2023 as he made his First-Class debut against Sussex in the opening round of the County Championship.

A prominent part of the England Under-19 setup, he captained the World Cup side in South Africa in 2024, last summer also saw him notch up his maiden First-Class century against Nottinghamshire.

With the Three Lions, he also led England to their first Test win in Australia since 2003 and averaged 46.75 in the summer of 2023, with two fifties.

The 20-year-old’s career is very much in the early stages but a List A century against Kent in August, coming just before his maiden four-day three fixture score in the same month, show further signs of his budding potential.
