Amanda-Jade Wellington

Making her Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) debut in 2012 at the age of 15, Amanda is the youngest person to represent the state of South Australia in senior cricket, breaking a record that lasted over 100 years.

Since that historic feat, the now 27-year-old, has made quite the name for herself in the Australian game, and beyond, in the intervening 12 years.

Despite mostly being known for her leg-spin bowling, in the 2016–17 season she earned plaudits with the bat, topping South Australia's run scoring charts in grade cricket with 325 runs at an average of 81.25, returns that prompted international selection.

She made her Aussie T20 debut v New Zealand in 2017, with figures of 3-15 on debut and 4-16 in the final match of the series. In December of that year, she was named in the ICC Women's T20I Team of the Year.

A foundation player for Adelaide Strikers in the WBBL, the all-rounder currently sits joint second on the all-time leading wicket-taker charts in the history of the competition.

She’s taken over ten wickets in all but one season, and in the 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 campaigns she returned 23 wickets, including figures of 5-8 on two occasions, as the Strikers won back-to-back titles in the past two Australian summers.

Used at all times of the innings, she bowled the final over in both those triumphs and was named in the Team of the Tournament on each occasion.

She’s taken her trophy-winning exploits abroad in recent years, winning back-to-back titles with the Barbados Royals in the Caribbean Premier League.
