James Vince

One of the most attractive batters in the World when in full-flow, James Vince has shown glimpses of the incredible talent he possesses on the International stage without quite being able to cement his spot thus far.

Vince has continuously been one of the highest-scoring batsman in County Cricket since his professional debut in 2009 and whilst still a teenager went past 1000 career runs for Hampshire, becoming the second youngest in the County’s history to do so.

He enjoyed a stand-out season in 2014 after being named Hampshire vice-captain. He made a mighty 1525 runs - the highest tally in the country - at 61.00 as Hampshire won Division Two of the County Championship. In 2012 he averaged 55.50 as Hampshire won the Clydesdale Bank 40, the second part of a one-day double. 2013 saw great improvement in the County Championship and he passed 1000 first-class runs in a season for the first time.

Ahead of the 2015 season it was announced that Vince would become captain for both limited-overs formats, and by the end of the summer assumed captaincy across all three formats. 2015 would prove to be a pivotal moment as he made his ODI and T20i debuts and his Test debut a year later.
