Rob Yates

Another batter who stormed onto the scene as a teenager, Rob Yates’ maiden First-Class century came aged 19 when he compiled 141 in over six hours versus a title-chasing Somerset side.

Two years later, back-to-back centuries, 132* versus Somerset and 113 against Lancashire a week later at Lord’s ensured Rob’s name would forever be synonymous with Warwickshire’s historic County Championship/Bob Willis Trophy double.

That year he topped the Bears’ average charts and further showed his aptitude for occupying the crease for long periods with a nine-hour, career-best 228* against Kent in 2023.

That innings marks one of ten centuries the 25-year-old has to date in 70 First-Class matches, with a further three coming in the 50-over format.
