A well-travelled member of the Second Eleven circuit, Calvin Harrison turned out for six different county sides before finally earning himself a contract at Nottinghamshire.
In early 2021, whilst studying at Oxford Brookes and playing for the UCCE side, the all-rounder struck 121 and took 3-9 at Trent Bridge to put himself in the shop window.
Joining the Outlaws before the start of the Vitality Blast the leg-spinner was an ever-present in the campaign with 20 wickets at 13.9, earning him a call-up to that season’s The Hundred to cap a meteoric rise.
Originally born in Durban before moving to New Zealand and eventually Taunton in 2012, with a sports scholarship to King’s College, Harrison’s professional debut came in the summer of 2020 for Hampshire against Sussex.
However, it is in the Midlands where the 26-year-old has blossomed with his ability to turn the game with the bat, ball and in the field (he regularly pulls off spectacular slip catches) making him a triple threat.
Whilst the T20 format is originally where he made his name, his 53 wickets to date coming at an average of under 23, his First-Class debut for Notts came back in May 2023 and he has since gone on to contribute 40 scalps and over 400 runs.
