Adam Zampa
- Biography
Australia’s leading white-ball spinner, Adam Zampa has been a stalwart of the national side’s limited overs efforts for the best part of a decade.
Forcing his way into the reckoning for the 2016 T20 World Cup, Zampa took five wickets at a miserly economy rate of 6.27 and added a career-best 6-19 in the IPL of the same year.
A key cog of Australia’s dual triumphs of 2021 (T20) and 2023 (50-over), Zampa was the second leading wicket-taker in the first, with 13 from seven matches, and stood top of the pile in the latter.
Zampa’s variety and control have been well sought after on the franchise circuit with the 32-year-old playing for teams in England, West Indies, the US and the UAE, to go with his stints in India.
He won the Vitality Blast in 2019 alongside Essex and has over 340 wickets in T20 cricket, at an average in the low 20s and an economy of less than eight, a remarkable feat for a leg-spinner.
