Cole McConchie
- Biography
A talented all-rounder, one-club man Cole McConchie has gone from strength-to-strength in his native New Zealand since making his debut for Canterbury against Otago in November 2011.
Appearances were few and far between over the intervening years before the right-hander’s maiden First-Class century came in 2016, in just his seventh First-Class game.
Two years further on and he was installed as the Kings’ captain, a role he continues to fulfil on in the four-day and T20 squads.
Through consistent performances and a sheer weight of runs, McConchie earned international recognition in 2021, with a T20I debut against Bangladesh in Mirpur, a series in which he took seven wickets with his handy off-spinners.
An ODI bow followed two years later, playing three 50-over matches for the Black Caps in 2023, as he was also recalled to the T20 side, adding seven further caps against Pakistan and the UAE.
