Archie Vaughan
- Biography
A name synonymous with English cricket, Archive Vaughan began to lay the foundations of his own burgeoning career in 2024, producing some eye-catching performances for Somerset.
Son of former England Ashes winning captain Michael, the 19-year-old all-rounder developed his cricketing prowess at the prodigious Millfield School, alongside Somerset’s pathway system.
Signing his first professional terms in May 2024, his List A debut followed a couple of months later before he burst onto the First-Class scene.
After taking a wicket with his sixth delivery on debut, it was in his second match against Surrey in which he shot to prominence with match figures of 11-140 in a Somerset victory.
Entrusted with opening the batting aged just 18, Vaughan added a maiden fifty before the summer was out, amassing 236 runs and taking 15 wickets across his first four red-ball appearances.
A further indication of how highly he is rated came as he captained England U19s on their tour of South Africa at the beginning of 2025.
