Dane Schadendorf
- Profile
For most, a First-Class debut means lining up alongside your team at the start of a match and playing the full four or five-day fixture. Not so for Dane Schadendorf.
Thrust onto the professional scene in 2021, Dane replaced England-bound Ben Duckett halfway through a match, scoring 24 and claiming four catches in Derbyshire’s second innings.
A former Zimabwean U19 wicketkeeper, who went viral in 2020 with a quick-thinking stumping, Schadendorf has been a part of Nottinghamshire’s set up ever since committing himself to the English game that same summer.
The leading run-scorer in the Second XI Championship in 2022, with 1,001, the 22-year-old had to wait until September 2024 to play his second First-Class match for Notts in victory over Kent to secure Division One status.
Spending the majority of his time with the second string in 2024, Dane made 606 runs at 75.75 as Notts won the SEC title for the first time in nine years.
