Germany in the FIBA World Cup

Germany used the Molten BG5000 basketball to devastating effect during the tournament beating Lativa (81-79), USA (113-111) and Serbia in the knockout stages.

European basketball continues to dominate at the game’s top table – in the tournament’s last eight, six of the Quarter Finalists were European!

“These games are difficult. This is not 1992 any more,” confirmed USA Head Coach Steve Kerr said after losing to Germany in the semi-final. “And so, players are better all over the world. Teams are better. It’s not easy to win a World Cup or an Olympic Games.”

Germany became the first team to win a FIBA World Cup crown in their final debut since Spain in 2006. Serbia absorbed another heartbreak after losing to the United States 129-92 in the 2014 final in Madrid, Spain, through they finished better than their quarter-final exit in 2019.
