Evetts at the Double!

Super Ted Evetts produced some super darts to claim two titles on the latest weekend of the PDC Unicorn Development Tour.

It takes Evetts tally of wins to FOUR this year on the Development Tour and he is a clear leader at the top of the order of merit.

The Team Unicorn starlet beat Irishman Shane McGuirk 5-3 in the final of event 10 on Saturday and Evetts then whitewashed Bradley Brooks to claim event 12 on Sunday at Milton Keynes.

His second victory saw Evetts in imperious form as he lost only two legs in five games en route to the quarter-finals. Then came a 5-2 win over Owen Roelofs, followed by a 5-1 success over Geert Nentjes in the semi-finals, before he didn’t give Brooks a chance in a brilliant 5-0 victory in the final.

On Saturday, the talented Unicorn youngster saw off highly rated Dutch star Justin Van Tergouw 5-4 in the semi-finals and he controlled the final against McGuirk, who was a touch unfortunate as he also lost the final of event 9 to Nentjes.

The other winner over the weekend was Luke Humphries who beat Greg Ritchie 5-4.

The next four tournaments on the PDC Unicorn Development Tour take place in Hildesheim, Germany on August 17 and 18.

Elsewhere in a fantastic winning weekend for Team Unicorn, Thomas Junghans was crowned 2019 Swiss Open Champion, which took place in the city of Oberglatt, Switzerland. Junghans earned valuable ranking points for the BDO World Championship table as a result of his victory in his home country. Junghans previously has experience on the PDC European Tour and came through the field defeating Wayne Warren, Francis Carragher and Dennis Olde Kalter en route to claiming the title.
